Addiction & Recovery
Struggling with drugs, alcohol, or other addictions can feel overwhelming—but recovery is possible. At Family Hospital, we believe addiction is a chronic medical condition, not a moral failing. We’re here to help you heal, regain control of your life, and move forward with hope.
You Are Not Alone.
Help and Hope Are Here.
What is Addiction?
Addiction happens when using a substance or engaging in a behavior becomes hard to control—even when it causes harm. It can affect anyone, regardless of age, background, or lifestyle.
Some common signs of addiction include:
- Using more of a substance than intended
- Feeling unable to cut back or stop
- Spending lots of time getting, using, or recovering from a substance
- Cravings or urges that feel hard to ignore
- Trouble at work, school, or in relationships because of use
- Physical withdrawal symptoms if you try to stop
Our Program
When you come to Family Hospital for help, you’ll begin care through our Rapid Intervention & Stabilization in Emergency Setting (RISE) protocol. This program is designed to help you feel safe, supported, and medically stable as quickly as possible.

What Is Meaningful Recovery?
Meaningful Recovery Means
- Feeling physically and emotionally better
- Improving relationships and rebuilding trust
- Finding purpose through work, family, hobbies, or faith
- Managing stress, mental health, and triggers in healthy ways
- Believing in your own strength and hope for the future
Why 18 Months Sobriety Matters
- Research shows that 18 months of continuous sobriety dramatically increases the likelihood of staying sober for good.
- In many studies, people who maintain sobriety for at least 18 months have relapse rates as low as 15% or less in future years.
- In contrast, relapse rates are much higher for those in their first few months of recovery.
Every day sober is a victory. But reaching milestones like 18 months builds new habits, rewires the brain, and helps recovery become a lasting way of life. Studies show that the longer someone stays sober, the higher their chances of lifelong recovery.
